24th SEAMEO Regional Centre for History and Tradition (CHAT)
Governing Board Meeting
The 24th SEAMEO Regional Centre for History and Tradition (CHAT) Governing Board (GB) Meeting was held virtually on Thursday, 18 September 2025 at SEAMEO CHAT in Yangon, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The Meeting was attended by Deputy Director of SEAMEO Secretariat, members of the GB from six SEAMEO member countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore, as well as representatives from the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam on behalf of the respective GB Members, together with the Director and Senior Staff of SEAMEO CHAT. The GB members from Indonesia and Timor Leste sent apologies as they could not attend the Meeting due to other official duties. The Deputy Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat served as Ex-Officio Member.
The Meeting of SEAMEO CHAT commenced with the opening address by Dr. Than Zaw Oo, Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Myanmar and the remarks of the Deputy Director of SEAMEO Secretariat, Ms. Pintip Iamnirath. Mr. Mohd Amran Bin Mohd Haris, Director-General, National Department for Culture and Arts, Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Malaysia acted as a Chairperson, Dr. Khin Thidar, Director General, Department of Education Research, Planning and Training, Ministry of Education Myanmar as a Vice-Chairperson, and Ms. Rosmawati binti Mohammad, Principal, Lambak Kiri Secondary School, Brunei Darussalam as a Chief Rapporteur.
The Meeting of SEAMEO CHAT Agenda comprised with ten Working Papers: four Matters for Information, five Matters for Approval and one Matter for Information of SEAMEO Secretariat.
