Summary
This proceeding is a collection of the working papers presented at the Workshop History Agenda 21 which was held in Yangon on the 14th to 16th December 2000 as part of the inauguration of the SEAMEO Regional Centre for History and Tradition.
The Workshop was attended by renowned historians and curriculum planners from the Ministries of Education of the Southeast Asian region and was characterized by lively and valuable discussions. It is our wish to include the full transcripts of the discussions on each paper, but unfortunately only a summary of the discussions by historians and curriculum planners could be provided in this proceeding. This summary does not claim to be complete as it is based on the notes of the Secretariat of the Workshop but it gives a fair indication of the kind of debate and interest the working papers have provoked among the participants.
